This photograph is from October 2011, somewhere along Bishop Creek in the Sierra Nevada near a campground, the name of which I’ve forgotten. Driving around searching for photo ops, I’d stopped here looking for a bathroom and found instead a lot of bright sunlight shining on the aspen trees bordering the creek. I hustled back to the car for my camera but forgot to grab my tripod because I was in too much of a hurry.
Take your time was one of the lessons I learned that morning. Another was don’t eat day old bean burritos for breakfast when you’re going for a drive in the mountains.
