Purple Fountain Grass

Purple Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’) is an ornamental grass prized for its deep burgundy-purple foliage and graceful, arching flower plumes. During the warmer months, soft reddish-purple seed heads rise above the narrow leaves, catching the light and moving gently with even the slightest breeze. Its flowing shape and rich color add texture and contrast to gardens, especially when planted among green foliage or sun-loving flowering plants. As the season progresses, the plumes gradually fade to softer tan and bronze tones, giving Purple Fountain Grass a beautiful presence well into autumn.
