Food, that is, not tobacco.
I get great tasting smoked meats (smoked anything, for that matter) using my Z Grills smoker with Bear Mountain pellets. It’s been a good combination that’s worked well for me. The Z Grill has always been reliable and consistently holds close to the temperature I set it at. In my experience, Bear Mountain pellets burn well and produce less ash than other brands I’ve tried. I’ve found some good deals on Bear Mountain pellets at our local Tractor Supply store. Picking them up in person is much better than a torn bag Amazon delivery with 20 lbs. of pellets leaking all over the place (it happened to me – twice – before I quit Amazon and started buying my pellets from Tractor Supply).
Traditional wood burning offset smokers were once the only way to go, and I used them for years, but it takes a lot of work and no small amount of skill to get good results from one. In contrast, my pellet smoker is almost a no-brainer to use and consistently gives me great results and good flavor on everything I smoke. And that’s important to me as I’ve gotten older. From cream cheese to tomatoes, to pork butt and baby back ribs, my pellet smoker couldn’t be easier to use.
