Double-Flowered Sunflower (Helianthus annuus)

August 5, 2026

“Double-flowered” describes a cultivated flower form with additional petals, rather than a separate species. This sunflower has a dense center of petal-like florets rather than the more open central disk associated with a typical sunflower. The additional florets give the flower a noticeably different structure from the more familiar single form.
