Orchard Grass (Dactylis glomerata)

Orchard grass is a perennial bunchgrass commonly found in fields, roadsides, and disturbed ground. Its flowering stems branch into compact clusters that give the seed head its distinctive shape. This photograph concentrates on those branching seed heads rather than the plant as a whole.
