Deep Purple

Scattered across the glowing surface of a light table, these miniature carnation petals take on an almost abstract appearance. The intense purple petals contrast beautifully with their pale green bases, while the backlighting reveals hints of shapes and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. Removed from the flower and photographed individually, the petals become less about the carnation itself and more about color, form, translucence, and the wonderfully organized chaos found in nature.
