Miniature Carnation

Miniature carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus) are compact versions of the familiar florist carnation, producing smaller flowers—usually about 1–2 inches across—often with several blooms on each branching stem. Sometimes called mini carnations or spray carnations, they come in a wide range of colors, including white, pink, red, yellow, peach, purple, and many two-toned varieties. Like other carnations, they belong to the Dianthus genus, whose name comes from Greek words often interpreted as “flower of the gods.”
