One of the first Thai dishes I was introduced to was kung pao chicken. It was delicious. And it was hot. HOT. It was at a small place on the west side of town called Sawadee, run by Carlos and Manee, a friendly husband and wife team, along with their four young children. Five tables and chairs on an open floor, kitchen in the back. Before it was Sawadee it was a take out place called the Pail O’ Chicken and had a fifteen foot plastic chicken on the roof. The new owners kept it. You couldn’t miss the place.
