Staying Active Matters

Adults with mobility disabilities are at higher risk for obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and depression—but regular physical activity significantly reduces these risks and improves independence. Knowing that, why do I spend so much time sitting at this desk? Sitting here for hours feels harmless, but the truth is my body is keeping score. The longer I stay glued to the chair, the more my muscles tighten, my posture collapses, and my energy dips. It’s one of those slow-burn habits that sneaks up on you.
