Trading Pounds for Pixels: My Fujifilm X-T5 Experiment

July 10, 2026

After years of using Canon camera equipment, I’ve decided to explore a smaller, lighter alternative. My Canon gear has served me well and continues to produce excellent images, but carrying a full-frame camera and several lenses has become tiring, even during shorter outings. The Fujifilm X-T5 caught my attention because of its compact size, relatively low weight, and impressive image quality. I also appreciate its traditional control dials, which provide a more direct, hands-on approach to photography. Paired with a versatile zoom lens, the X-T5 offers a capable system that’s easier to carry and less cumbersome to use.

I’m not planning to give up my Canon equipment, but I’m interested in seeing how well the Fujifilm fits into my photography. Ultimately, the goal is simple: carry less equipment, enjoy the experience more, and continue making photographs without compromising the results.
