The Agapanthus flower begins its life as a teardrop-shaped pod protected by a papery green sheath known as a spathe. As the sturdy stalk reaches its full height, this protective casing eventually splits open to reveal a tightly packed cluster of dozens of smaller, individual buds.

These miniature trumpets transition from a pale, creamy green to vibrant shades of indigo, sky blue, or snowy white, gradually fanning out from the center to create the plant’s signature “firework” explosion of color.
